“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him. For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” 2 Cor. 2: 14 - 15
We have called May the ‘Month of Grace’, and we will be saturating our services with the message that grace may be the most important word in the Bible, the heart of the gospel. What would you say to someone who asks you to explain the word ‘grace’? Could it be that grace is better conveyed than explained? We live in a world marked by wars, violence, economic oppression, religious strife, lawsuits and family breakdown. Clearly, the world hasn’t got to grace yet. Indeed, the world starves for grace.
As we enter the ‘Month of Grace’, pray with us that we as a church will turn the tide of popular opinion, which suggests the church sometimes presents a form of ‘ungrace’. Grace comes free of charge to people who do not deserve it, and we are some of those people. The apostle John said that “grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”. Much energy has been spent by Christians on debating and decreeing truth, but what about grace? Have you ever heard of a church that was known as the church that ‘out-graced’ all others? Oh that the church would become a nourishing culture of God’s grace, and that we as a body of people who have been saved by grace would give off “the aroma of Christ”.
Every blessing,
